Chunky Applesauce

There is something to be said about the smell of this when it is cooking on the stove. It just feels like home.

Ingredients
4 pounds cooking apples - granny smiths are the best
1 to 1 and 1/2 cups water
1/2 to 1 cup sugar
cinnamon to taste

Directions
  1. Peel and core the apples - cut in quarters
  2. Boil in a large pan with cinnamon, 1/2 c. sugar and water
  3. Mash apples and add sugar and cinnamon to taste
