Carrabba's Bread Dipping Spice

Carrabba's is one of our favorite restaurants in Colorado. The first time we went, Adam was upset because he thought someone had smoked at our table and the bussers had not cleared the dish that had ashes on it. Then the server came and put olive oil in the "ashes" - the look on Adam's face was priceless. He was mortified. Now he loves this stuff and has been known to indulge a little too much in it. :)

Carrabba's Bread Dipping Spice
1 tablespoon basil
1 tablespoon parsley
1 tablespoon fresh minced garlic
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon fresh rosemary
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1/2 teaspoon Olive oil
  1. Combine all the ingredients (except oil) in a small food processor or coffee grinder. Chop briefly until relatively the same size.
  2. Remove and place in a container for holding the spice. Stir in Olive oil.
  3. To serve, place about 2 teaspoons spice blend onto a small dish - cover with fresh olive oil. Serve with hot, fresh baguette slices.
